For the last eleven years, the Irish Hospice Foundation has relied on its annual Cycle Challenge as the major fundraiser for its Nurses for Night Care Service. Almost €2m has been raised over the period and many people in their final days and their families have benefited.
Not surprisingly, this year's cycle in the Italian Alps has had to be cancelled leaving the IHF with a major shortfall in funding.
Instead, on Saturday 20th they are encouraging as many people as possible to cycle 20km and to donate €20 to the IHF. The 60 cyclists who had signed up for the Italian cycle will obviously participate but a lot more are needed to raise the needed funds.
If you are reading this here, there's a good chance you will be out on the bike on Saturday but, even if you are can't, you can donate to the IHF through the link below.

Just fixed the link on this. If any of you are members of cycling clubs, it would be great if you could spread the word and share the facebook video on your club page.

Huge numbers of cyclists out Howth direction this morning and I'm sure elsewhere as well. If even a small percentage contribute to the Hospice, they will be able to continue and even expand their Nurses for Night Care Service. If you've been out, or even if you haven't, you can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/ihfcycle202020
With inflation, tomorrow will be 21km and €21:)
