Traffic lights changing fast

    Recently I have noticed traffic lights are changing really quickly.
    At a junction they will go from red to green, but only let 2 or 3 cars through before going back to red.
    It is definitely a change in the sequence, and I have seen it all over.. anyone else noticed this or other oddities recently?

    I wonder if it is to prevent people from pressing the button with COVID on their hands!

    It combines perfectly with everyone being on their mobile phones:
    Light goes green;
    No movement for green phase;
    First car moves off slowly as light goes orange;
    Several vehicles speed through junction as orange goes red;
    Two more go through on red;
    light goes green for another direction and the cycle begins again.

    What type of car are you driving?
    Its most likely related to your car type

    They can change the frequency, it is an issue there are two places in Finglas where they light sequence only lets a very few cars through and its dose make people take chances so its dangerous.

    I am fairly careful.

    Noticed it too during Covid, I think the lights around here have different times depending on time of day or day of week. It seems they are on evening schedule as the one I use most will give me access every time when I drive over the induction loop.
