Been trying to get info but ended up going round in circles. So if I travelled to Ireland from Portugal via northern Ireland (Belfast), would I be required by law to self isolate. It looks like for northerners they can travel into Dublin and be expemt from filling out a form if they can prove they are travelling onto northern Ireland, and obviously with no control on the border wont be detected crossing so would it work the same way travelling to the republic via northern Ireland?

If you come to Ireland from Portugal then yes you're supposed to self isolate. Simple as.

There's no legal obligation to self isolate, you just have to declare where you will be doing so. Sure you could sneak across the border but look at what happened in NZ.

The Brits require self isolation for 2 weeks.N.I. authorities 1 week as per media reports.

Great loophole, the sooner Simon Says scraps his silly power trip rule the better.
