Hi all,
I'm looking to do some soundproofing on the party wall. House is a red brick terraced, walls in question are in the rooms with fireplaces (shared chimneys). Does anyone have experience with similar?
We plan on putting alcove shelving (and wardrobes in bedroom). I was thinking of fixing a plasterboard slab to add some mass behind these as they won't be seen with the shelves /wardrobes.
There also seems to be quite a bit of the sound coming through the fireplace /chimney. Not sure what to do on this front..stuff the unused chimney with insulation?
The rooms are skimmed and finished so ideally I'd keep disruption to a minimum.
