Court access order

I currently have an access order to see my son who lives in Mullingar and I am based in Dublin.

I have just got a call from his mother to say they are moving to Ballina in 2 days time. Due to covid-19 I am unemployed and no longer have the use of my car which, now makes it almost impossible to see my son.

Even if I did have my car it's a 6 hour round journey to pick him up and bring him back to Dublin! Under the agreement, should I have not been given more notice or a say in the matter.

Is it a typical father's don't have rights crap and I'll just have to put up with it?

Nope, you need to contact your solicitor immediately. If you are unemployed you should qualify for legal aid. It will involve going back to the district court. Are you a guardian?

I never thought about legal aid, I'll look into it. I paid over €1,200 for access cases after she did not show up multiple times and she was never arrested!

No, I do not have guardianship as she refuses to sign the form.

I've always been employed and earned a good wage. Never been in trouble etc but sometimes she turns cold and stuff like this happens.

After my last promotion she took me to court looking for more maintenance , even though his room in my house is kitted out with PlayStation, Xbox, smart tv and a full wardrobe. I can't say the same for his home situation so I'm not sure what she is doing with the money!

Total mess and it's my Son who is suffering.
