My ariel came down over the weekend.(It was probably 40yrs old) I got a technician out to sort it so he used the remaining pole to mount it again at about half the height.
I now have full reception of Irish channels and Itvs, BBCs, and C4s in one room but only Irish channels in the other two rooms.

The technician isn't keen refitting a 16 foot pole as they put alot of pressure on the chimney. He says there is no obvious problem with the chimney at the moment?

Are you not allowed to fit a 16ft pole for insurance reasons?

If I did refit it would I be better off with aaluminium or steel pole?

He's coming back during the week with a scanner to see if he can improve the reception.

    Thanks for any replies.
