Looking for a DAB radio with a good receiver. doesn’t have to be portable - I want something with decent sound quality. Cheers

But will DAB still be around or a least will there be any stations on it depending on where you live? I think it's OK if you can receive a UK signal.

I have a couple of DAB radios but they're integrated as in-car and a multifunction media unit but I can't see myself going out and buying just a DAB radio albeit an expensive one.

There is a new multiplex testing where I am. And yeah I am wondering whether to get a radio with both DAB and internet

Roberts 94i. Higher end of price range, but it's excellent. FM, DAB, Spotify, Bluetooth, streaming etc. and sounds great. Control it from your phone also, very handy. Sometimes you'll seem them reduced in price.

Good DAB/FM receivers? i.e. would I need a specific aerial or anything? Is it alright for bandscanning?

I have no complaints in that regard. The telescopic antenna is perfect for my needs - I can get DAB and weaker FM pirates, plus FreeDAB when it was broadcasting from Dublin. You can (with some effort!!) remove the included antenna and connect it to an external antenna (f-connector). This is not shown in the instructions but it is possible. The app though is very handy for band scanning around - I have the pirate FM frequencies as presets and just skip through them.

    Downsides:
It can't record directly to USB memory (you can record using line out cable though).
    Styling not to everyone's taste.
    Larger than 'normal' kitchen radio.
Battery pack is not included (you can buy one).
    Expensive.

    Plus sides:
    Excellent audio and tuner.
    Multiple inputs - FM/DAB+/Spotify/Line-In/USB/Internet Radio/Bluetooth.
    Useful app.

I would not pay full price though. Hold off and wait for a discount. They can be bought sometimes for £150 on Amazon and elsewhere.

Nice! I’d like something that can pick up weaker signals.

DAB is fine if you want to stay local (very local), but if I were you, I'd go for an Internet Radio.

Models available from many brands including (Roberts, Philips, Ruark, Revo & Pure), you'll then be in virtual radio heaven as you discover an amazing array of radio stations (via your home WiFi router), not least the full array of BBC stations + anything else you fancy from anywhere in the world.

    Happy days :)

Looking into getting one at the moment, but it’s very hard to know which model to go with
I want something with very good quality audio (I’m fussy because I listen to music with a lot of bassline), good FM/DAB receivers would be nice and a good database of Internet stations

    Revo Superconnect.

Top drawer sound quality, with very controlled thumping deep bass, crystal clear midrange & sweet treble. Very impressive mono speaker (driver), but also with HiFi quality stereo audio outputs on the back!

I use mine as a replacement for my old HiFi tuner, plugged into my NAD Amp and speakers, and I must say the Superconnect doesn't disappoint. She's a beauty, if a tad expensive.

So you have a choice, either as a stand alone Radio or if you prefer to plug her into a HiFi system as your HiFi tuner.

I also have a Roberts 93i which although very good in all departments, it's not quite up there with the Superconnect.

Both of the above can be operated via the UNDOK app which takes them to another dimension, in a good way :)

Newer models probably available now, as mine are a few years old....

...sorry forgot to say, seeing as this is a DAB thread, I should point out that most internet radios also have DAB and DAB+
