I am looking for a Wireless access point. I have a broadband connection downstairs and Ethernet point in my upstair bedroom. Rather than extending the wifi, I am looking to get the max out of my cable broadband connection. So I would need to connect the wired cable broadband connection to a Wireless access point via LAN cable. Not in near future I might go for Gigabit Ethernet.

Which one of the below TP link access points would serve my purpose?

    1. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Extender-Broadband-UK-RE450/dp/B0725Y1VZ7/
    TP-Link AC1750 - £59.99

    2. https://www.amazon.co.uk/RE650-Universal-Extender-Broadband-UK/dp/B0725Y1VZ7
    TP-Link RE650 AC2600 - £69.99

    3. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-RE505X-Extender-Broadband-External/dp/B084WC8JTP
    TP-Link RE505X AX1500 - £59.99

    4. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks ...

Does your ethernet point in the upstairs bedroom connect to your downstairs router at the other end? If so you want an access point, not range extender. If it's just simple browsing etc you want to do then this would do just fine as a cheap solution https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-WA901N-Wireless-Access-Point/dp/B087MSF7BR/ref=zg_bs_430580031_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GBB8M68RMD9BN19PJQD3 but your better off getting something better to future proof and generally get better performance. The ubiquiti products seen in the top 10 here are very popular, and give better bang for your buck. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-Computers-Accessories-Wireless-Access-Points/zgbs/computers/430580031

Yes, My Ethernet point connect to the router downstairs.

I wont be able to mount the access point on the roof. So I dont think the ubiquiti would server my purpose. Is it Ok to mount this on the wall rather than on roof?

Yes the wall is fine. There's a little mounting plate comes with them and it doesn't make a difference if it's on a wall or ceiling, I have one that I just let hang straight from the ethernet port on the wall, I haven't got around to mounting it yet. They're very light. Also you can power it from downstairs at the router and just have the ethernet cable going from the wall.

Would ithe access point use the SSID of the router? Or do I need to create another SSID for upstairs?

How is the coverage like when you hang the router on the wall?

There's an app that allows you to set it up with the same SSID and password as your router downstairs. It comes with instructions etc. but basically you connect it to the router, wait a minute and set it up through the app where it is automatically detected. I find the coverage good but only use it in the same room so can't really say if it'll cover everything you want or not or how different it is to hanging on the roof if at all.

Edit: Here's a link to see where the wifi signal comes out of the unit.
