Toughened glass spec questions

I put in a 10mm toughened glass balustrade on a job. I have sent in a spec of the glass from suppliers to project managers. A further spec request came for 'wind, snow, permanent and imposed load resistance ' . Is this normal?. Will suppliers have it as it wasnt on original spec sheet?. Or just someone being OTT?
    Thanks

    Yes normal.
    May need to be designed.
No. External weather and and several adults leaning against the glass should be designed in to the balustrade. The fact it’s glass is a design decision. See part k.

    Yes normal.
    The EN Standard should apply.

You will need someone with knowledge of the relevant standard to determine the appropriate load to start with. (IS EN 1991 and BS6262 are a starting point but there's actually quite a few relevant standards that must be consulted.)

Someone will then need to take the correct loadings from these codes and show by calculation that your sheet of glass can transmit those loadings back to the permanent structure.

Absolutely necessary to do this or the barrier could be much too weak for the job.
