Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

three year old managed to open the freezer door and leave open for an hour or so about four days ago

red light on since but curiously enough it only seems to be the food in the top compartment which is no longer frozen

anyway its a beko ffp1671s tall freezer , i turned the temprature up from three to four but red light still on , one year warranty expired about six months

    ideas welcome

    thanks

Back off the thermostat to lowest setting, if the red light goes out turn it clockwise again until it begins to flicker on, then watch it and see if the light goes out afterwards if so it is freezing, red light goes out at c -8 degrees but compressor runs until temp reaches - 20.

A friend's beko had a problem during the heatwave.
again only top section was affected.
Still under guarantee but getting the runaround from Beko. Engineer expected whenever.
But it did begin to freeze properly after a few days and is now working properly.

do as The Red Ace says and give it a few days.

That didn't deliver that result but when I do the opposite and turn the temperature down ( change setting to 5 from the default 3 setting), the snowflake light comes on

Just googled your freezer model but when I first replied didn’t realize it is a frost free unit, being ff it most likely has clogged the evaporator with ice and can’t circulate properly, your best bet is remove the food to another freezer and plug out the unit and let it defrost manually as it will run continuously and clog its self further

was told by a guy in the repair business today that its probably fcuked , "out of gas and you cannot fill them up with gas anymore " ?

Plugged out about 24 hours for manual defrost, if the guy that told you it is out of refrigerant undid the cover over the evap coils there would be no probably,it would be either frozen solid or very little ice which I doubt, how did it loose its gas because they door was left open? If the cover over the evap is removed you will see the evaporator coils, when you can see the evap and it is clogged up 20 mins later with the aid of a hair dryer in capable hands you can have it defrosted and reassemble.
