Nearby construction covers car in dirt every day, who's responsible?

So I know this may sound silly/petty and minor but:

There is construction going on in my estate, houses are being built and I understand it's all for greater good and all and I had patience for past 4 months but this is seriously starting to piss me off.

Construction trucks/vehicles - When they drive they bring up so much dust in air that my car gets covered in dust, whenever I wash it - it gets covered in dirt/dust/sand next day.

This is getting pretty frustrating and I don't see how it's fair that I have to pay for car wash if it gets discarded right away by something out of my power.

Yes they have the road/street cleaning truck sweeping street and the end of the day daily but the issue seems to happen during the day.

Don't get me wrong - I am not looking to cause major issue here but I just don't see how it's fair that I have to pay for car wash weekly due to estate being built?

This is my car after one week of me working from home and car being there during the day.

I've already been taking out air filter every 2-3 weeks to clean it out from dust built up but my patience is kind of starting to run low at this point.

I moved to the midlands before the M4 was built and just had to live with 2 years of a lot worse from all the construction traffic, I think the fine weather has just made it worse for you as far as the dust goes but nothing really you can do about the traffic throwing dust up. If it rains a lot you will have a respite from dust. I washed the car every 2 days for a year!

Don't expect anything from life, just be grateful to be alive.

Life is too short for that kind of thing. Buy a cover for you car!
de minimis non curat lex ("The law does not concern itself with trifles")

Fort the price of the first solicitors letter you could buy yourself a top of the range power washer and have you car detailed to a top spec!

Try living beside the new children's hospital site at St. James's for the last two or three years! It's been bliss since the site shut down due to the virus!

The planning permission for this deveiopment would have included conditions re reducing dust from development. You could check re compliance with these

Whilst the construction site no doubt contributes i have found any rain that did fall in the last month in cork has been quite dusty.

@ OP, i think the simplest solution is to buy ones of those car protector sheets they sell in Halfords when the weather is cold, I think you can get one whereby it covers the roof and all windows and bonnet, this might help in the interim.

Maybe park away from the construction works until they are finished.

Something like this I was thinking might help a little to keep the dirt and dust off.

Is there a website to check planning permissions? Or would that need to be requested?

I will look into that, thank you, it might be best option because amount of dust is just insane here (you can see it by difference between dusty windshield and wipered)

It would normally be on the website of the county council the site is on.

Thank you, I found it now.
There is a lot of files though, which one would generally cover dust? Three is well over 50 files with various titles none of which include dust.

This is whole estate development for 70 Houses.

Don't worry about the details. Just submit a complaint to the planning enforcement section and they will investigate.

I don't really want to cause any trouble for anyone, so complaint would be my last resort at this point.

Cover from halfords is my next move, I am reviewing planning permission documents currently to see what's the deal.

Would email to construction company (from Planning Permission contacts) work do you think?

    So their planning permission outlines:

"Site Management will take all necessary measures to reduce high dust levels on site. While levels of dust cannot be eliminated [X - Contractor] will implement process of wetting down the area to keep dust at ground level this will be particularly important in the following times:
    -during ground works
-when cleaning down scaffolding and movement of plant

A diligent housekeeping policy is essential to ensure that the dust levels in the site are minimized.
Dust creation is unavoidable however the scaffold boards, crash decks and ground area around the house is to be cleaned down daily as high winds can blow dusts and debris off the scaffolds into public space and resident access areas."

So I guess I will just get cover for car cover and be done with the issue.

    Thank you for suggestions.

P.S - Hope it doesn't look idiotic to be the only car having cover on it
