Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Air purifier activated carbon filters

    I'm looking for a bit of advice concerning activated carbon filters.

    I bought an air purifier a while back and set it up in the house. I ran it for a couple weeks but when I started doing a few renovations, I put it away, and pretty much forgot about it.

    Lately my wife has been diagnosed with asthma and we got one of those "cair" air quality monitors and it is telling us that the VOC count in the house is high. So I did some research and found that actvated carbon filters can remove VOCs from the air.

    Remembering the air purifier, I took it out and checked if it had such a filter, which it had, and a proper one from what I could determine from my research. However when I put it to work, it does not seem to be lowering the VOC count at all.

    Sorry for the big back story, but on to my question. Do activated carbon filters absorb VOCs and the other things they remove and become saturated without an airflow being put across it, like when the air purifier is not on?

    Any advice would be appreciated
