Hi All. As the title says our son is 18 this month and we have received the letter from the Child Benefit Section that we will no longer be eligible.

He is only going into Leaving Cert year in September , is there any point contacting them or is it gone?

    Cheers for any help/advice.

Unfortunately that's it ,it's only paid the the month your child turns 18 even they are still in full time education,

Still get back to school though

The monthly Child Benefit stops when 18. However, if you are receiving any weekly social welfare payment, the increase you get for a child continues as long as they are in full-time education until the end of the academic year in which they turn 22.
