Playstation 4. Safe mode loop

    Plz can you advise. My sons ps4 is in safe mode loop. It goes around 7 options we have tried all except initialise ps4. Which he said will wipe the hard drive. Years of data onnit. We have tried a lot and nothing works. Please help ! Thanks

    Have you tried leaving it plugged out for 30 minutes for that sometimes works.

    Could try swapping out the hard driving in the console and then initialising it with a new blank one, all the data would be still on the original hard drive so once the PS4 is working again you could put it back. You'll need a USB stick as well as you'd need the full firmware on that. Don't think Sony name them properly so you need the full one which is like 800-900MB compared to the normal update one which is ~300MB.

    If a spare 9mm internal hard drive is not something you'd have lying around, you could take it from an old laptop just know that it'll be wiped by being used so if you were planning on using one from a working laptop you'd need to reinstall windows and have lost the files on that.
