Hi, We purchased a Dining Room Table in October 2019. We paid a deposit in person but completed the tranasaction over the phone and with a credit card. Over the last few months, the table has become loose from its main support and is almost unusable. It is likely to break completely if it is not fixed or replaced.

We contacted the retailer and they said we need a receipt as they don't keep records of what they sold for the previous year. We can not locate the receipt and not sure if we received one as we paid over the phone but we do have credit card statements. The retailer said our problem is with the manufacturer and not with them. What do we do going forward to resolve this issue and do we have any rights in this situation. Thanks

Retailer is responsible for consumer rights and the credit card statement would likely satisfy a judge (if it came to that) so just push back on the retailer first of all.
