Anyone know what's this cable?

    Happy Monday everyone,

I've got a cable coming in my window & I'm not sure what it's used for...

Can anyone identify what it is?

I'd tried pushing into back of my TV, but it's not the standard for a TV aerial... I've noticed same cable leading into on other apartments in the block...

    Thanks,
    D

It looks like a fiber optic cable.

Thanks for the replies - the apartment has a router (previously had magnet) - but it's at the other end.

Wouldn't be for some television provider?

That's a magnet fibre cable by looks of it. No use to you if you don't have magnet ftth

Is that a spool of the same cable lower in the picture? Might have been ran to the router on surface at some stage.

Does the white bit in the centre come off ?

    Might be Sky

Not TV unless plugged into a special receiver....

Had something similar when had sky put in apartment, the cable brought in was tiny compared to normal and went into s booster unit which allowed 4 cables so you could run 2 or 3 boxes.

    Cheers again,

Magnet own the cabling coming into my building. So it may be fibre.

Lots of the neighbours complain about them non stop tho!

    Yeh fibre.

There should be a cap to stop it getting scratched no?

You would remove when plugging into router so probably discarded.
