Annual Leave and leaving job

Just for instance, lets say you have 20 days a/l to take in a full year and you use all this up in the first 6 months of the year and then leave your job. Will you owe anything back to the company in that case i.e you have only worked 6 months so would your pro rata a/l have been in fact only 10 days and you have actually taken 10 days extra over what you were allowed? Or is it just a case you can use your allowance whenever your want regardless of when you leave in a year

I hope the above makes sense!

I think its like a day and a half per month, something to that ratio. So a job with proper HR etc would reject your leave if you haven't built up enough

if you have taken more and leave it will be deducted from your back month/week.

yes, you will owe back if you've taken more than the prorata a/l for the accumulated portion of the year.
EG if you leave on 01/07/2020 youw will have [20days *6/12] (ie 10 days) to take. So you will have to pay back for any others taken

Pretty common for FTE to use the annual leave agnostic of what's built up

It's normal unless you are new employee or starting mid year.

Otherwise you couldn't take any AL in January ar all ;)

Yes OP this would be taken of your final pay or whatever your contract states.
