Extractor Fan - Do I need to replace?

    Hi all,

My house is 13 years old and has an extractor fan above the hob in the kitchen island. We are getting a new kitchen soon and we have realised we do not use the extractor fan.....ever.

I would now like to remove the extractor fan altogether and replace with a light. If I did this would I be creating further problems for myself in the long run? Also, our kitchen living area is open plan and has a wood burning stove at the other end of the room. Not sure if this has any impact on getting rid of the extractor fan.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
