I am thinking of moving to Vodafone TV. Well bundle, with broadband and phone too.

I am just wondering about opinions on it from those who have used it.

    Thanks

I had it for 12 months after switching from Sky and never had any issues. Sky were confident we'd get fed up with the box and while not as slick as sky Q it was grand. I've seen others on boards complain of faulty boxes but ours gave no trouble. Had a second one upstairs (2 floors above the main box) which is delivered wirelessly and had no issue with it either. What's really good if you're a sports fan is you can get all the Sky Sports (including F1), BT and Premier sports - which I've discovered moving to Virgin you cant get with them.

You need to have a good broadband speed on your line (which I assume they check before singing you up for TV). We had a solid 82Mb download so was never any trouble.

Vodafone TV is great ... quality is fab and the tv box, while not "cutting edge", is 100% adequate and fast (much much better than the Virgin Media TV ****e Horizon box we had before).
Just works and has some good features .... gopher it - but as sais, get a good broadband connection ;)

I find the TV box a pile of crap. They do offer the Vodafone tv app free which I use to chromecast onto the TV. I find the picture quality way better which baffles me tbh. I only have it because it was a bundle deal with FTTH. Don't watch much live TV or catchup.
Got rid of sky last year which I thought was going to be a pain for a year but I don't even miss that either.

Just got Vodafone tv installed during the week and finding the parental locks annoying. I don't need them but there doesn't seem to be a way to turn them off.

Hi Guys, does the main tv box have to be hard wired into the modem or can it be connected to wifi?

    Cheers

Pretty sure it has to be hard wired, there may be a work round but when I had mine installed it had to be hard wired albeit that was a few years ago now.

The entry point is in the hall so there’s no way to get a network cable to near the tv to be honest - do they do a work around by having the tv box in the hall and putting the wireless multi room on the main (only) tv in the house? Or would I be charged for 2 TVs anyway?

    Cheers

Honestly don’t know but I’d think they’d charge for 2 TVs. He clipped the cable in out house from the hall to the tv in the living room. Did an okay job but I’ve since had the floors and skirting done so hid the cable as part of that.

500mb fibre and Vodafone TV were installed yesterday. TV box needed a network cable into the modem but there are wireless ways around it I’m told (RJ45 WiFi bridge).

BB is top notch @ 472mb down. TV service isn’t slick like Q but better and zippier than Horizon IMHO which I’ve just cancelled. All in €45 per month.
