All, photos attached, does anyone know or have an idea of costs to complete this repair. Is it also best to phone insurance. Details were exchanged between both parties. Any recommendations of where to get it repaired, north Dublin city area

That's the other person's car and you did it?
I did similar to a rental car and they charged my card €1,800. I'd say between €500 and €2000 depending on the way it's gone about.

I'd say around €500 would be a good starting point. The reshaping of the door and wheel arch is an unknown as to how bad that extends to and what would be needed. That's just a hubcap on the wheel, problem is you generally can't buy a single one, need a set, set may be €40-50 and you only need 1. I am not sure if you can get away with just spraying the part that is damaged or if they entire side panel of the car would need to be done to blend it in.

I had something similar on the lip of a door. Something a shopping trolley could do as well. They are claiming a new door! Prepared to get bent over and ridden very hard!!!

Hey OP, who was at fault and who's car is that in the photos?

Of course it is. More than half of the pics can be repaired for a new €5 wheel trim. It might cost a few bob for the panel work, but it is most definitely a tip that is ‘slight’

And what damages can’t you see? Not all damages are superficial

Mother had an identical issue on her car, she took the side off her car pulling into our drive.

Carcraft listed above fixed it for 600 quid I think

That is superficial damage. 2-300/panel, source a rim out of a scrap yard, wheel trims 20-50 for a complete new set. 5-10euro for a single bit matching. 40euro to track if its wearing tires. If you are good to price sub 500euro but no more than 650 if you are not able to do that

Thats ok if its your own car but if its the other parties car things are different.
If it was my car that someone damaged, id want firstly a new door for the simple reason that otherwise they may be reshaping the wheel arch to a mis shapen / damaged door and would never be correct.
Id also want a new wheel, new tyre, full inspection of rear suspension with alignment read out and then a good repair of the arch. White seems to be a pig to match so there may be alot of painting also involved.
Thats not being awkward but if someone damaged your car, they have to pay to put it fully right.

It’s not just a scratch. There seems to quite a misalignment between the door and panel now which needs professional attention not just some back street hack.

Is that not just a plastic wheel trim rather than an alloy ??

I’d have thought €500 would see you out unless it needs an alloy rim or anything further found when investing.

Its a wheel trim but steel wheel would have taken a nice rub so should be replaced along with tyre imo.

I imagine that OP is paying for the damage himself that is why he is interested in the price. I am not sure if an accessor would allow you for a new door for damage like that, depending on the age of the car you be taking the p!ss out of the poor unfortunate that tipped you. That not a serious collision it is where two cars have grazed by each other or OP misjudged and obstacle and got slight caught . Yes it needs to be examined but it approximately a 500 euro job. If you read my post I indicated the solutions to the wheel rim. I like to know what the black bit sticking out of the plastic wheel trim, but it looks as if it a bit of plastic maybe from object that he grazed. I be absoluted astounded if there is structural damage to the car other than a wheel al tracking

Its all fun and games til the car needs a new door at some time in future and then its found that the arch is profiled to suit a damaged door. That is why i would insist on a new door in this particular case.
The collision could have got more extreme as it passed over the wheel area so anything is possible from a buckled rim to bent arm. Im not suggesting there would be anything further than that.

Depends OP, Had something similar and my local guy charged me 400 euro.

I brought it to a more professional place first for a quote first and they wanted 1700. Place was closer to me at the time.

I laughed as I left. Fat chance they were getting 1700 out of me the chancers.

Where are you getting a new Peugeot Wheel trim for €5 ????
Not a hope. Ten times that for a genuine one.

I would just replace the wheel cover then get a polishing machine and clean it a bit. Waste of time and money to do anything about it.

it's not a vintage car, it's purely an A to B appliance. Cosmetics don't really matter here. My opinion.

Maybe you don't care about it, but the owner is absolutely entitled to a flawless repair, as opposed to a half arsed polishing job.

If it were my car that was damaged by someone else, I'd give it to the closest main dealer, let them asses it for damage, enjoy a coffee and take a courtesy car, and let the other parties insurance cover my inconvenience.

And yes, I know the main dealer isn't necessarily a crash repair centre, but they'd have the right kit to align the wheels to factory spec (I've been to many places that have screwed it up), and could likely source parts quickly and easily, before giving the car to their trusted bodyshp.

If I did that to my own car, I'd treat myself to a new wheel trim set from Aldi and leave it at that.
    :D:D

Have you cleaned the dirt off it?

Until the OP decides to reveal whose Car this is ( and who is paying for the repairs) it's difficult to give him any advice.

i didnt see the trim thought it was an alloy ,
so i revise it to a minor tip , still not slight

    JINX
    no comebacks !

An A to B appliance that would result in you being out of pocket by at least the cost of repair should you want to sell it.
Fair enough, if you bash up your own car, do as you wish but if someone damages my car, it will be repaired to the expected standard by a garage of my chosing.

Nothing worse than the wrong set of wheel trims on any car.
A genuine looking car can be turned into a sh1tbox in quicktime just by doing that.
