Active Wood worm in attic

    Hi all,

    Looking for opinions.

    Currently in the process of buying a house. The surveyor reported back that there was active woodworm in the attic. Located on an internal rafter. In the official written report he mentioned that "spraying was recommended" and that the "likelihood of woodworm in other timbers was increased".

    Would it be advisable to get a structural engineer in to evaluate the structure of the roof?

    You paid a surveyor, what did s/he say when you asked?

    There is no point commenting without seeing the woodwork damage and banging around on the joists.
