    Gross.

Hi, my sister lives in rental accommodation. She's been in the same place for three years now and every summer they get this disgusting infestation of flies which start to emerge from under their oven.

Their landlord is uncontactable most of the time, they sent him a message about this the other times it happened as well to no response. She texted him today about it but isn't expecting anything back. Usually they just clear out the kitchen, spray the sh!t out of it with Raid and then open all the doors and windows for a few hours. But they keep coming back all summer usually.

Any help or advice appreciated because it's absolutely mank and they have a small baby this year so understandably don't want him in the house with this going on.

Phorid flies i think they're called because she said it happens once a month and they walk across the kitchen floor to the door. They have a big gas range and they don't want to take it out from the wall in case anything gets disconnected etc but it really is a very bad problem.

Sadly, That's ye problem, right there. They're attracted to the unmentionable 'organic matter' which has, down the years, accumulated down there. It needs stripping out and steam cleaning, by a Pro'.

Cider vinegar and washing up liquid ain't gonna sort jack. Nor will 'Bug Bombs' from B&Q. They're a Symptom. Attack the Cause.

It was only installed three years ago the month before they moved in and the first infestation happened that month! But I'd say you're definitely right that they need a pro to come in and take it out and sort it. Ugh.
