Just listening to his lastest speech..... we're great..everybody else is **** especially China...a virus floats in just as I sign a fantastic trade deal.... I'm great....only 110k dead could have been 10million... we're better than Sweden. We are the best..dominant...check valve/regulator for the world...stock markets flying up...we have great/better/fantastic race relations...looters/demonstrators have to be shown force...no problem.
All previous administrations were ****... we're great.

They're about 6 weeks behind Europe. Death rate is x3 higher than Europe right now.
Predicting another 30k deaths to come in the next month.

It's a pointless comparison stat, debunked countless times at this stage.

Countries classify deaths completely differently. In the US case, individual states count deaths differently. A fairly foundational concept of comparative statistics is that you're comparing apples with apples - this isn't the case with Covid death stats.

There's also an inherent bias against smaller population countries and in favour of larger population countries. Most statisticians have avoided using per capita comparisons for this reason, because Andorra and San Marino keep ending up as worst in the world on the silly league tables. Regional or cluster comparisons are more appropriate, but still have their challenges.

Countries are at completely different stages. Brazil looked class about a month ago and now looks terrible. Point in time comparisons like this are fairly silly.

Meltdown? This is Trump in standard operating mode - a verbal torrent of superlatives, each of which could be a tweet.

US great. Better than <insert name of European country here>. China bad. Stock markets great. Everything awesome.
Everything bad is Democrats and malcontents.

The whole make peace with North Korea was the last thing he did that surprised me.
