    Hi folks,

Found V5C for above vehicle in the D15 area. Not sure what I can do with it unless the owner reaches out. Said I'd throw in up here on the off-chance !

Is it registered to a person in the uk? Might be worth reaching out to them.

    Very odd thing to lose

Edit: Just had a look on DVLA - It’s out of uk tax since October 2019 and is marked as exported.

Yeah Colm, it's an important doc that will cause the importer hassle when he/she eventually goes to VRT it; must have jut been in door card side pocket and that was that. Have asked immediate neighbours if anyone they know fits the bill but no joy. Not much I can do.

Nightmare. They are really stuck without that v5. Must be someone from the area. Wonder is there any Facebook notice boards or something you could put a post up about it

Have you or any family member got a FB account? Maybe try putting something on there.

See if registered owner has a Facebook or Twitter account that you can reach them on to see where they sold it to, might track new owner hear down. GDPR might mean no dice unless a private sale.

Be no harm, maybe just get her to say you found a V5C belonging to a Kodiak in whatever area it was in and maybe a partial number plate, it could work.

A friend of mine got his license back this way, he lost it on the motorway rest area and one of the guys from motorway maintenance sent him a pm through Facebook as the address was close to where he lived. Got it back in a day.

    Always worth a shot.

Any car dealerships near to where you found it? Have a drive by if so and see if they’ve got a Kodiaq lying around the place

I’d say someone is or will be in a right panic when they notice it missing

    It’s an unusual spec in that it’s a 1.4 petrol 4wd.

Tell Revenue ( or NCT) that you have it.

At some point it will come to their attention.

    Yep,

I emailed NCT yesterday morning with both the document information and my contact details.

    What colour is it?

    67 plate would make it a 172 or 181 when it's re-registered.

    https://www.carzone.ie/search?make=SKODA&model=KODIAQ&minYear=2017%20(172)&fuelType=Petrol&maxYear=2018%20(181)

Might not be any of those, but Annesley Williams wouldn't be that far from Dublin 15. No Irish plates on these cars so they could be imports...

    It’s a blue SE L manual 4x4 1.4 TSI and is February 2018

Its down as exported from uk, road tax expired in uk since Oct 2019, so could have been on a dealer lot in uk, whoever lost it probably won't notice until time comes to pay the vrt

At which point they are absolutely screwed through not having the document.

Drop it in to the local Garda station in Blanch? I know if it was me that's probably one of the first places I'd check to see if anyone had handed it in.

Maybe call a few transport companies and see if they brought the car over recently

Thats above and beyond for me, sorry. I’ve a few feelers out. If it happens, it happens. Worse case scenario, the buyer will be inconvenienced when it comes time to duty the car at which point he/she will have to do a bit of leg work and phone calls/emails.

Sounds like you should have left it where you saw it so.

Apologies, that sounded nasty. I’ve no issue dropping it to the station at all, just thought I’d exhaust other avenues first as I feel once it gets there, it’ll end up buried/misplaced.

One of the busiest districts in Ireland. It will go into a pile of paper never to be seen again if the member at the counter was busy in his head when you called. If you wanted to put a little effort in then I'd photocopy it and bring the copy to the station and they can call you if the owner appears.

Edit............. I've just flagged it with a mate in DMR Traffic. If he has a helpful comment I'll message you.

I don't think you can just drop a photocopy of any document to the station and tell them you keep the original tbh. That would sound a bit fishy. Op did what he could. Leave it at the station and that's it. Not much else can be done and the op already spent some personal time trying to find the owner.

Leave it with the Garda, if the nct responds to the email tell them where you left it.

Any joy with a Facebook/google search link for the previous UK owner Dodzy ?
Somebody had to have notified the DVLA that the Car was exported. It was either the person named on the V5 you have, or a Motor dealer. In fairness, if it's marked as exported it's a fair bet to assume that whoever has it now is legit.......;)

Not having a go, but you did pick up this V5, bring it home, and then start a Thread about it here.
You might as well go one more step and try to make contact with the one person who could give more info with regard to who purchased their car.
If it was yourself that dropped/misplaced this V5, etc, etc.

The form decided to blow into my front garden. I’m not going to get any joy on the far side of the water. I feel my best bet is the NCT as the car will have to show up there at some point once they reopen, so just waiting on them to possibly make contact. Also have it up on Lost.ie.
