Half acre of lawn is well burned up at the moment - slight slope facing south. I haven't cut it in two weeks and even then did a high cut. Is it best to just let it go and hope it will bounce back after some rain?

Leave it, no lawn ever needed watering other than to look pretty. It'll be fine.
