Foot passenger on ferries during Covid

Anyone been on the ferries (any route really) recently as a foot passenger? Wondering what it's like with boarding, health checks, facilities on board.

Are people without an emergency reason for travel even allowed to book yet?

I'm looking at Dublin-Holyhead, or maybe Belfast-Liverpool with a cabin if I can get there on the train, for a fortnight some point this summer. I know currently I'd be told to self isolate once I get back to Ireland, not a problem.
