I am in Waterford I can get the waterford ham repeater but I do not have a licence so just listen in.
Do You know about Zello the app?
Yo can install this on a mobile or you can buy what they call an internet radio. I like them and have two of them.
It is a radio with a button at the side like a walkie talkie.
    It works through wify.
Once you join a talk group you can talk to people all over the world.
Loads of people are using them and it is easy to set up.
Many ham radio operators have these and they are becoming very popular.

Will give it a try with the height. I was receiving and getting a green light on my receiver so nearly there.

    All the best.
