I heard of Steps recorder which records the items/folder etc I select and takes a screenshot and records the step in text

Eg: user select the start menu
    User searched 'start up'

However, if I am doing something on excel, is there a program that will be the same?

In my upcoming role I need to create work instructions/operating procedures on how to do certain reports and Id Perfer not to be taking screenshot and adding text because it will take too long
Alternatively the company won't accept video recordings and everything needs to be documented in Word. Doc format so I need to document a step by step guide with screenshot

Is there a software out there that can do this?
Surely people would write up technical documents/procedures may have come across such a software??

Even if I can't get screenshots, but at least the text and I could add screenshot later
