Can anyone recommend a good brand of plasma cutter, only for DIY jobs around the farm. There is so many brands out there and I never heard of half them.

I recently bought a Stahlwerk one.
    https://www.stahlwerk-schweissgeraete.de/CUT-50
It's alright. When it arrived it didn't work at all. Has 10 warrantee or something. They collected and it came back a week or so later working fine.
Haven't used it too much but have cut a 150mm circle in 12mm plate. Now the cut needed to be cleaned up with the grinder but it did the job.
Maybe it has its place but for any straight cuts I reckon the small grinder would out preform it.

Am I right in saying you need a compressor with them?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

You need a good air supply with plasma to get a clean cut.
Great tool though and you would safe a fortune on cutting disks if using the plasma.

Bought the same the other day, flew thru 5mm stuff very cleanly. Would need a good clean earth and plenty of air.
