Wifi extender

    Hi was looking to extend the Wi-Fi into the garage. The garage is only around 12 ft from the house would a Wi-Fi extender work and are they easy to set up

    It is more to do with the obstacles in the way, than the distance. If your house is well insulated (A-Rated windows, dry-lining, exterior cladding etc - then the WiFi may be blocked, even if the distance is short.) If can run an Ethernet cable to the Garage (Cat 6 etc), that would be the most reliable. Next choice would be a mesh WiFi system using mains wiring for backhaul. No guarantees it will work - your garage may be on a separate bus-bar on the fuse panel - and mains wiring unlikely to work in this case. Final choice would be Mesh system using wireless backhaul. This will require that you can find the WiFi path of least resistance between your router and the garage, and bridge it with Mesh WiFi access points. All of these options are easy to set up.
