    Hi all,

Guessing a few of the handier folks here have a shed or a garage they do a bit of work in and have painted the floors.

I noticed Lidl have "Liquid Plastic Floor Sealer" in and I was considering buying it to seal the concrete floor on my new shed (well, yet to be built, shed). It says it can be used on concrete, it's weatherproof, resists oil and grease etc, but it also says it shouldn't be used on garage floors (apparently it's because it's not designed to resist peeling from tyres sitting on it and then rolling).

The thing is, my shed is just for motorbikes so they're not as heavy as the cars that the paint people had in mind when writing these specs. However, is it worth taking the risk? Has anyone else used it? If not, what have you used?

    Thanks everyone!

Fairly slippery when wet ,get industrial paint which is better, more expensive though

Two pack floor paint is what you need, I used a two pack product from Tor Coatings in my home workshop. I use my small workshop for woodwork/ metalwork etc so no wheeled traffic but it's stood up well so far (five years). I used a polyurethane coating in another part of the building used for garden/ bike stuff- a lot cheaper but not as hardwearing.

    Cool, thanks folks.

I see Ronseal and Thomsons and some other crowds have floor paint and garage paint. Are they any good?

I've experience of using Jotun two-pack paint before, can't remember the exact name or product number but it was good stuff, although a real pain to actually put down, and not cheap.

The worst my shed will need to put up with is a motorbike on a stand or a dolly to wheel it around...although that being said we are talking about 200kg plus...the bikes aren't light.

Most of those DIY/ consumer brand floor paints are water based or polyurethane and a wheeled dolly will be hard on them I'd guess. I got the Tor floor paint from Castle Paints in Tullamore, can't remember the exact price but pretty sure I got 5 litres of it, thinners and roller sleeve for under €100 and got two coats on in one day.
