When I flush my loo I've noticed that the cistern only empty's about 2/3 of the way, can anyone tell me if this is normal or should I be looking at replacing the syphon. It's a low capacity cistern and sometimes it doesn't flush everything away first time.

    any advice is much appreciated

More modern syphons will often have an adjustable stopper plug, which fits into a high or low level hole to cut off the water flow.

Otherwise, have you made sure the water level is high enough when full ?
Its easy to adjust this level.

Some require you to hold the handle down to get full flush.
