does your employer have a mindfulness policy; how has this been impacted by remote work?

Does any employer really need a policy for every single spiritual practice that their employees might want to try?

Given that mindfulness is actually harmful for people with some mental health issues, I'd be seeing a "mindfulness policy" as potential discriminatory.

That's interesting I wasn't aware of any harmful side effects of mindfulness.

As long as its not compulsory which I doubt why would there be a policy, for the sake of open-mindedness I encouraged my husband to log on for the optional work one, wasn't doing anything for him, but it does help some people or as my mother would have said, its a job for someone.

It's interesting to hear that some people can be harmed by it. What if someone wanted to do it but they had been determined to be at risk?
Maybe this gets into the vexed question of talking to your employer about your health.

    It most certainly does.

Id oppose seeing any spiritual practices required in a workplace, unless the job actively involves practising the discipline involved ( eg praying for a hospital chaplain, meditation for a yoga teacher, etc).

"These included reports of depersonalization (feeling detached from one's mental processes or body), psychosis (loss of contact with reality) with delusions, hallucinations, and disorganized speech, feelings of anxiety, an increased risk of seizures, loss of appetite, and insomnia."

How is mindfulness spiritual? It's basically learning to manage your focus and pay attention to what you're doing and if you're not overstimulated.

Not much different from other mental hygiene tips such as taking breaks etc. Whether it's as helpful as touted is another thing.

I think you have a narrow view of what mindfulness is, my employer, a multinational has had people on-site running workshops on it.

I think that true mindfulness is necessarily spiritual. Otherwise you're into a sort of product ; what's been called McMindfulness.

I guess the first thing I'd ask is what do you consider spirituality ? For me mindfulness is a process where I focus on how I'm feeling now, physically and mentally.

It's a practical process of reflection.

Can I ask for your reference on this as it it doesn't make any sense.

Google negative side effects of mindfulness.

Google negative side effects of mindfulness.

I could also google positive effects of mindfulness. Your post is uninformed and you obviously have no idea of what mindfulness is.

Let's not attack each other. I don't dispute the existence of some negative side effects from some processes defined as mindfulness but I would want to know a bit more and would also probably like to read the paper in question.
