I’m intending to lay some kerbing/edging.

Quick question: do I need to lay a foundation of concrete in a trench, level it off, and let it set first?

Then, when that has dried and set, lay a layer or concrete and place the kerbing on/into that, followed by haunching etc?

I'd build up the sub base with gravel/ crushed stone and lay 100mm of concrete then kerb then haunching.

IIRC when the council do it, the concreting is done in one go, which will give a better job than two lots
