I'm looking at upgrading my Nissan Navara, the newer one I'm looking at doesn't have the vat paid on it. I'm not vat registered so will have to pay the vat, am just wondering if I have to pay it on full total of the purchase price or since I'm trading mine against it will it be on the difference. My navara has the vat paid on it already.

If you’re not VAT registered then the dealer gets no benefit for the fact that you previously paid VAT on it. The dealer will not get any “input tax” credit for your vehicle but will have to charge the full “output tax” on what it charges you. If you can find a private sale that gets you a better overall deal, you should go for it.
