    quick question, I'm buying an Octavia Soleil in the next couple of weeks and really can't decide between colours;

    Black, Quartz Grey or Silver

Any pros and cons I should consider?

    Thanks

Personally I would choose the grey. Silver is so yesteryear and black might not appeal to everyone's tastes when selling the car on.

On the other hand, you can get away with washing the silver far less than others.

    Grey by a mile.

The silver dates them quite badly.

Black is very hard to keep and shows scratches more.

    This is my dilemma!

I'll go with the black, no it gets more chips.
hmmm, so I'll choose the grey - well it looks dirty easy
Ok so the silver then - well everyone has one now

    and back to square one...

Grey. Hope your getting a cracking deal on this. Must be one of the last few older octavias left now??

The new model is said to be far more limited in terms of engine options and trim levels, so I would see the new model costing a lot more like-for-like. I dont think they’ll have to give the old model but you’d want to be getting a nice discount.

Think if I remember right, the Soleil option was about 24,600 when I looked at it in March.

Not sure I can wait until the new model is out in September

It’s about €26k on the road for the petrol (before discounts)

Unless you really need the diesel (the 2.0 is nearly €5k more, the 1.6 €3k more) then just get the petrol.

My wife got one in January and we went for the grey which is a lovely colour on the car. If you want to be a bit more adventurous I thought the orange was even nicer than the grey but I was over-ruled. The turbo petrol engine is great for around town so unless you will be doing high mileage that's the one to go for. The Soleil has a decent spec for the money and if you are getting it on finance the 0% PCP is a no-brainer.

    Is that the Maple Brown?

I quite like that too, but I’m not sure I’d put my money where my mouth is on it!

Race blue is still one of the nicest colours in the Octavia imo. I'd have that over all the mentioned above.

I’d say they’re well gone at this stage and it’s whatever’s left over.

Went for the dark grey in the end, picked it up yesterday and am delighted with it. Gorgeous colour.
