    Hi,

Looking to change carpet in landing. The skirting that is currently there is the original skirting. Would it look ridiculous if I were to put 6” skirting as it would run above staircase architrave if you get me? Thanks

Why do you want to remove the skirtings to change the carpet?

The end of it could be cut at an angle to finish at the same height as the stair architrave.
    You may be overthinking it
