    Hi I need to transfer software from an XP to Win 7 but dont have the orginal media, its software for programing radios

    You can't really move software in windows thanks to the things like storing the settings in the registry.

    XP is almost certainly 32bit and likewise 10 going to be 64bit only. So you can't backup windows , install a fresh version on computer 2, restore into it and then upgrade to the current version of windows

    You could export XP to a virtual machine and then run in the new windows. And there's licensing issues there as you'd have to uninstall all the duplicate software and get an XP license.



    Check with the supplier if they have a new version or have a download of the software to re-install. If you don't have the original license and serial number then you may have to get a new copy.


    You could ask in the hobby radio if it's that type of radio
