    Hi all,

I was just wondering is there any dealership that sells Lamborghini cars in Dublin? I know there probably isn't but just checking.

My 7 year old boy is fascinated with them and I would love to show him one in real life over the next few weeks.

    TIA

Think Karl Goodwin has his Diablo in the showroom most of the time alright, other than that your best bet would be to go to Cars and Coffee in Dundalk whenever that starts back up, there was three different models the last time I was there.

    Google
    Carzone
    Make : Lambo

One for sale in Karl Goodwin Motor.
Doubt anybody would entertain someone giving their kids a wander around with the risk of hand prints etc

Maybe they can look through the showroom window.

If the Cannonball Run is still going this year you should bring him along to a rest area, you can wander around the cars and there is usually a few lambos on it, amongst other supercars.

Speak for your own kids - Karl Goodwin would have no issue with a young lad coming into the showroom with his dad to have a look around.

Totally forgot about that and it actually comes past my house - well it did last year.

I'll also check out the Karl Goodwin garage.

I will of course. I have friends and family in the trade and they had to restrict children running around showrooms due to the damage some of them caused to the cars.

Karl Goodwin might entertain tyre kickers but I wouldn’t, and in this case, it’s not even a tyre kicker, it’s a child that wants to do the kicking.

It's all good Gumbo...thats a minority of kids.

He's more shy than anything and would probably freeze in awe of the car.

    Yeah listen, it’s nothing personal.
Kids and cars are not a great mix at the best of times, especially a car in a showroom with a price tag of €260k.

Sorry, but this is a pathetic attitude to have - the OP's son has a specific, genuine interest in seeing a Lamborghini. Given the chance - and judging by the OP's manner in this thread - you'd have to assume the two of them will be completely respectful and considerate of the car they've travelled to see. This isn't a family of five being reluctantly dragged from a Skoda showroom to a Kia showroom on a Saturday and the parents letting the kids loose when they arrive just so they can get a break from them for two minutes.

God knows how many garages in how many different countries I got my dad to bring me to from the age of ten or so. I'm talking about some of the most prestigious dealers you can imagine and it was obvious to everyone that worked in the places that we weren't going to be buying a Ferrari that day but never once were we turned away or told to "look through the window".

Don’t be sorry, that’s your opinion, as is Mine and I wouldn’t call your opinion pathetic.

Anyway as google says there’s one for sale in the country so no harm checking it out.

Just to be clear, Google is wrong. One appears on Carzone but that car was sold last year and is no longer there. The dealer has another Lamborghini that he personally owns and is not on any car sales website but is sometimes displayed in the showroom.

Car sales room is usually not a place for car enthusiasts. Most dealers are like double glazing sales men, no interest in cars it's just a product and a business. Most will know very little about cars other then the price. You get the same mindset from mechanics in dealers.

Obviously not true all the time but that's my experience most of the time. Enthusiasts don't always make good business people either. That's the flip side.

A new Lamborghini got posted to Instagram yesterday in Karl Goodwins.

I don’t think visiting a dealer to look at a Lamborghini is a wise thing to do at the moment considering all that is going on, if it were any other time of the year I think the dealer would be happy for you to let your child see the car, maybe even sit in it for a photo, but I don’t think you’d get a great reception now considering the social distancing and other guidelines they have to follow and the fact that they are obviously well behind on sales for the past 2 months means they’ll most definitely have better things to be doing. Just my opinion on it

Thanks for update User1998 - I’ll check that out.

As mentioned in my first post this will be in a few weeks time and not right now.

Surely a quick email to the garage and explain that you could come in at a time that suited just to get a photo with the car or whatever.
It would be a pretty foolish dealer to refuse that request - specially one that sells normal cars too. Perhaps dad might buy his next car off him if treated nice.
Due to virus, i wouldnt expect to get into the car given the cleaning needed between customers.

On holidays in the UK a few years ago and my young petrol head son armtwisted me to bring him to a Porsche dealers. I explained to them it was for his benefit, not mine. They couldn't have been nicer, gave him all of the brochures going and let him sit in all of their cars. Whilst chatting to the manager and thanking him for being so accommodating, he made the very point above. Everybody might only be browsing today, but could be buying next week, next month, next year, or whenever.

And this especially applies to Karl Goodwins since he sells a lot of ‘normal’ cars that most people can afford
