Soaps & COVID-19

General question - I don't look at them but what are soaps doing re COVID 19? Are they still going? I presume they are a month or so ahead of actual real time, but they must be running out of episodes now....or are they still filming? And if they are still filming, how are they addressing COVID? Is it a part of story lines now, are the pubs still open in them cos from what I remember, McCoys, Queen Vic, Rovers are all central locations in a lot of these...

They finished recording when the lockdown happened. They are showing less episodes per week to drag out longer. They do plan on starting filming again in June/ July. Whether they run out before then I don’t know.

Emmerdale and Corrie both start with a Covid 19 reminder message at the start of each episode. They also plan on having less of the cast in for scenes and vulnerable older actors are to be written out for a while.

The world is watching Neighbours and how they are filming. Plenty in the industry very impressed with practicises etc.
