Downlight reading light

I was in a hotel in Prague a few months ago, and they had downlights above the bed that I haven't seen before.

They were a lot smaller than a standard GU10, and had a very direct beam. Despite the very high ceilings, (about 12ft), they worked well as a reading light and only lit each side without being so bright that they would wake the other person.

Any suggestions for what kind of bulb they were using? They only looked a few cm wide.

I'd attach a photo but I don't seem to be able for some reason.

Found a general pic, you can barely see them. The little black dot inside the long hanging lights.
