Process and Waiting time for HAP

    Hi All,
    has anyone applied for HAP recently?
    I was sent the HAP eligibility assessment which i have completed and sent back. just wondering if anyone knows what the next steps is/are? and how long does it take for county council to process the application.

    Took me and my partner about 3-4 months to get accepted (september to december)
    Although due to the current situation, you could be looking at twice that.

    If you need immediate support for rent, you can apply for Rent Supplement while you are waiting for HAP.

    However, this may complicate things later down the line and undermine any case you have for backdating (although HAP don't guarantee backdating anyway), but social welfare are processing Rent Supplement claims much more quickly than the council are processing HAP claims.
