Jaw pain after crowns

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on my situation. I had 20 crowns insterted (quite a big procedure) over a short amount of time abroad. I’ve since came back and have been experiencing jaw pain the past 9 weeks or so. I suspected at first it was bruxism(grinding of the teeth) however I’ve been wearing a mouth guard every night since I’ve arrived home mid March without any improvement)It doesn’t hurt when chewing but the pain can only be described as lower jaw and somewhat fatigue like pain. Before I go to see my local dentist I’m wondering if people think I should wait it out more or if suspect my bite is off , or maybe soemthing more serious?

In all likelihood the Dentist who placed the crowns altered your bite by changing the dimensions of your teeth. Unfortunately your local dentist is unlikely to want/be able to correct this. Depending on the extent of the problem, it may mean having to have the crowns replaced after a period of temporisation to find the correct occlusal relations for your jaws. In most cases, the patient is advised to return to the Clinic abroad to have it corrected, or referred to a Specialist here.
