Passat cc media/radio

Hey guys, just looking for some advice.
I have 09 Passat cc that I was originally going to change for something newer, however with the current situation it looks like I'll be keeping it for the foreseeable future.
So I'd like to upgrade the radio to something a bit more fancy.
There are lots of options out there but I'm just wondering has anyone any experience in doing it and what unit would be best to buy?

Ya I do.
As much of an upgrade as possible really.
Not bothered about a reversing camera.
But everything else would be nice.

Reversing camera would be a nice way to make the car feel more up to date.

Your budget will be a huge factor, the likes of Kenwood do model specific headunits that look like originals. They’re over €1k though.

There are eBay/Amazon Chinese yokes too, brands like Eonon, I think there are some good ones that aren’t too expensive.

I was weighing up a budget alright.
I think spending 1k on something like that for a eleven year old car would be foolish
I have also seen the Chinese thingys, while on first glance they fine I would imagine the quality and lifespan would be shocking.
If I could get something for 200-400 euro it would be ideal.
And if course the more it has tech wise the better.

This one based on the MTK chip and looks OK, you can also look for something similar that offers you rear camera, GPS antenna and maybe DAB as part of the package.

The chinese are getting better at quality control on their cheaper products.

spend about €120-€150 on the unit, get insurance to cover customs. They refund you if you're charged.

It's a minefield!
But good to know that I can get a reasonably good one in that price range
