PPS card with free travel not working

Hey all I just noticed my PPS card with free travel is not working on the Dublin bus scanner it doesn't seem to scan, I'll need for this week going to and from. Work what do I tell the bus driver while I wait on a new card, do I just show it to him of it isn't scanning
