Here's a station I discovered recently on Radio Garden:
    Quasar The Album Station:

    http://www.quasarradio.uk

If you want to listen to it via their website:
    http://www.quasarradio.uk/listen/

This is a station that might appeal to those who want to hear eclectic album tracks over the last six or so decades.

They have a schedule of presenters and it's all about the music. No inane chat and no bad or sad news either. The biog of the presenters that I found on the schedule makes for most interesting reading:
Dave Richards, Dave Asher, Derek Scott, Jeremy Chartham, Roger Mathews, Stuart Russell, Cliff Osbourne, Kathy Barham and Gary Ziepe.

Most of them have been around for a long time and all, but two, have some pirate radio experience. The two exceptions are Kathy Barham and Gary Ziepe. All the other presenters, except for Derek Scott, did a stint with offshore pirate Radio Caroline. At least two of them, the two Daves, were also on offshore pirate The Voice of Peace. Some of them, including Derek, were involved with land-based pirates.

In addition, some, including Gary Ziepe, have had involvement with licensed Radio Caroline. Most of them have extensive radio experience in general, with the exception of Kathy Barham and the possible exception of Jeremy Chartham who became a television engineer.

Cliff Osbourne is also the Programme Controller for the station.

As I was doing a bit more research on this station, I found that Bob Lawrence was a former presenter. He also did a stint with Radio Caroline as a pirate, as well as its various licensed incarnations. Bob has also turned up on Irish online, and sometimes temporary licensed, station Zenith Classic Rock.

According to his biog, Roger Mathews was involved in Irish radio for a period. I have no idea whether with pirates or licensed or both. Although, I suspect the former. I have not found any other direct link with Irish radio with the other presenters.

If anyone knows of any more Irish links or has any information about other personnel involved with the station, past or present, please add to this thread.

Let's not forget, of course, that the station is all about the music, a topic which has exercised quite a few posters on various threads! It would be interesting to see what people think of its music selection and programming.

I found another presenter who has stood in before and is on the schedule for the next UK bank holiday weekend: Mark Chambers. I can't find anything definite about his experience.
