My Redmi Note 8 Pro has a permanent message message saying :

    "Looks like roaming is activated".

If I close the message it just comes back.

I have Data Roaming set to 'Never' in my settings.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of this message?

    TIA

What network are you with? When I was on 3 a few years ago, this kept happening all the time as it bounced between masts. It wasn't actually "roaming."

    I am with https://www.tescomobile.ie/

which I think use the Three network.

On an older phone I had (one of the Samsungs, I think), Tesco was always shown as roaming, even when I was at home. It didn't cause me any problems, especially with bills or charges!

Then it sounds like you are just switching to different parts of their network.

It's annoying how it's setup and not very clear. Every time it happened I kept turning data off in case and eventually found out, it was just how they've been setup.

This is going back a few years now, so can't remember where I saw it.

    Thanks for assistance.

It is not a major issue. I can easily live with it.

    It's just a minor annoyance.
