Remove Gas heating

    Hello All,

I'd appreciate any advice on the following.

I just bought a house, 15 years old, small, 2 bed detached.

The Gas is currently disconnected, and the boiler takes up a lot of kitchen space. I am considering getting rid of the gas completely, I am having the bathroom redone, and I'll have plumbers in the house.

How big a job is it for them to just stop the flow of water in a way that allows the Boiler to be removed and radiators taken out.

I'll get an electric radiator system in, I won't be there a lot, and think I will find it efficient.

    Many thanks in advance.

Electric heating costs multiple times what gas costs, you would be far better to keep the gas and get it working

Maybe see if you can move boiler to the attic?
I'd also agree with gas being more efficient that elec. Assuming your not talking about a highly insulated air tight house and using a heat pump.

Thanks folks, I really don't know much about it all! I will get the place insulated, but really just wondered if it would a way to just have one energy source. Some of those modern electric systems seem very good, and can be set to work individually etc.

Again, I won't be there full time, so wondered if keeping standard charges and upkeep of gas is worth it. And, is it big money to get the plumber to to reroute the water.

Thanks for feedback so far, very informative
