Coloured renders for garden wall?

Can I ask for some guidance as to whether it's possible to buy pre-mixed wet or dry external renders for DIY use?
I saw some being applied online and it cuts out the hassle of application of the render and then the painting, so it would really suit an requirement which I have here - that being that I don't want to have to re-paint the garden wall every 3 years. :D

I have searched online, but all that I can come up with is Kilsaran's One Coat Render and K-Rend, but I'm not sure that whether either of them can be purchased per-bag, or whether it needs to be delivered wet and blown onto the substrate.

What's the general guidance? Many thanks!

Yes you can get premixed render it's not super cheap as far as I remember.

Most won't be one coat they'd need a base coat of the same 'system'

used a colored k rend dry dash render last year on a garage and garden wall. Plasters scudded the wall first with cement. then threw on the render and the dash following.

there may be a min qty for a particular color. Ours had to be made up in the factory, then we were sort 6 bags and I had to order 20 as a min I think it was. 14 bags looking at me all summer in the garage.

I can't recall the exact details but I ordered 10% more than the surface area of the walls and I was still short so make sure you buy plenty the first time. Even if you have a few bags left over it will be cheaper than going back for more.

If you could trial the colour on the wall someway I would recommend it, We were disappointed with how the colour turned out. not the same as the brochure. Not sure how you would trial it...

You've got to be careful with that coloured render (K rend and others). Large areas need to be broken up into smaller panels- otherwise you will get variations in colour as batching/ mixing of bags is important for colour consistency. Also it's not suitable for heavily shaded/ areas with overhanging trees or vegetation- it will develop mould/ lichen growth which is difficult to remove. Plenty of examples around where coloured render was used but it weathered badly and ended up being painted over after 10 years or less! White sand and white cement is an alternative- cheaper than acrylic renders and durable, if you like white!

Plasterers put k-rend on my back garden (cement block) wall last year, and I'm pleased with it. Like Frogeye said, a lot of them seem to be "special order", and there was quite a bit of confusion about what colours were/weren't available. Mine wasn't dashed, but there was a base coat of cement, then the render afterwards.

The plasterers mixed it all up in the garden - it came in dry bags. I don't remember them mentioning a minimum order.

Thank you for the advice. I'll talk with the staff in the builders-providers once it's open again for joe-soaps.
