How far away can I put an air to water heat pump?

We're about to build a house with a detached garage around 6m away from it. Would it be possible to mount the heat pump on the garage and pipe it underground into its tank/associated tech in the main house without defeating its purpose through losses or anything like that? I've asked the manufacturers but wondering if…

That doesn't seem too far. Pipes will be well insulated and it should be fine.
